The vision screening process is completely safe and noninvasive. Using advanced handheld devices, our trained Lions Club members can check both eyes in just a few seconds.
No device touches your child.
No eye drops.
No puff of air.
Since children under age five can’t reliably read an eye chart, this type of screening is especially helpful. It allows us to quickly identify children who may be at risk for vision concerns such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (misaligned eyes), or other common issues, so families can follow up with an eye doctor if needed.

If something is detected that may need further attention, participants receive a summary to take to their trusted eye doctor.
If you’d like the Hudson Lions Club to bring a vision screening session to your preschool, school, or community event, we’d love to help!

Provide the date, location, and estimated number of children.
Our trained volunteers will bring all equipment and handle the screenings onsite.
We’re excited to work with your school or community organization to help children see clearly and start their journey toward healthy vision.
Lions KidSight USA is a nationwide initiative led by Lions Clubs to ensure children receive early vision screenings and necessary follow-up care. The program focuses on children from 6 months to 6 years old, aiming to detect vision issues such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (misaligned eyes), and other conditions that can affect learning and development.
Lions KidSight USA has been recognized for its impact, identifying children at risk and referring them for follow-up care, supporting early intervention when it's most effective. Click here to visit the Kidsight USA website.
