The Hudson Lions Club’s Taste of Friendship program brings more than just food to homebound residents - it brings connection, care, and community spirit. Each year, volunteers deliver meals from local restaurants to residents who may be isolated or unable to prepare meals themselves.
Meal Selection: Volunteers contact participants in advance to learn their favorite local restaurant and meal preferences.
Ordering and Delivery: The Lions Club places the meal orders - and volunteers deliver them directly to recipients along with dessert and utensils so they can enjoy a nice meal with no cleanup.
Friendly Visits: Each delivery give us a chance to share some conversation, providing companionship along with nourishment.
Many homebound residents have limited access to nutritious meals or social interaction. Taste of Friendship provides both by helping residents feel cared for and connected to their community.
